PRESPERSE QUANTIFIES BENEFITS FOR SUMITOMO SEIKA’S AWARD-WINNING POLYMER AQUPEC MG N40R
Sumitomo Seika received the 2018 Sensory Award at In-Cosmetics North America, and the 2019 Bronze Sensory Award of In-Cosmetics Global, for Aqupec MG N40R. This is a sodium carbomer described as having a ‘fresh’ texture.
Presperse has now quantified, using a texture analyzer, the behavior of an emulsion with Aqupec MG N40R, as compared to standard carbomer. The emulsion with Aqupec MG N40R is demonstrably softer than an emulsion thickened with carbomer.
An additional benefit for use of this polymer was discovered at Presperse, using its’ patent-pending method of in-vitro soft focus evaluation. Surprisingly, use of Aqupec MG N40R instead of carbomer provides excellent soft focus test results. This benefit is demonstrated in the prototype “Blurred and Primed” exhibited at the 2019 NYSCC Suppliers’ Day show.
